Our Vision:
Safer Streets
Reducing dangerous and aggressive behaviour like rat running, speeding, aggressive driving and pavement parking enables people to feel safer when walking and cycling.

Greener streets
Public greening is an essential part of a liveable neighbourhood. This can include pocket parks, community spaces, planters and more native plant and flower species to encourage pollination and preserve our wildlife.

Cleaner Streets
Reducing traffic volumes on smaller residential roads leads to improvements in air quality. If more street space is used for tree planting and other environmental improvements, this can only benefit people's physical and mental well being. Providing 'School Streets' traffic reduction around every school in the Higham Hill, William Morris and Chapel End wards.

Calmer Streets
By removing cut-through traffic from areas where people live, residents will have the freedom to choose how they move around. Calm and safe streets enable children and others who are unable to use cars to travel independently, and residents who do need to use their cars will benefit from lower traffic volumes and less competition for parking space.

Living Streets
By improving walking and cycling facilities, streets can once again be enjoyable to use. By creating green, pleasant public spaces, communities and businesses can thrive.

How we get there:
-
Develop a Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN) that covers Higham Hill, William Morris and Chapel End wards.
-
Install bus gates on main routes to reduce through-traffic and improve bus frequency and efficiency.
-
Add street improvements, crossings and new public spaces to make travelling around the area safer, cleaner and much more convenient.
-
Expand 'School Streets' schemes to every school in all three wards.
