LTNs improve emergency service response times

Concern is often expressed regarding traffic reduction measures and the response times for emergency services. Emergency services are always consulted prior to any implementation of any measures and the data we have is quite clear that emergency service response times have actually reduced in in areas where LTNs have been implemented in Waltham Forest.

The decrease is small but could make a huge difference to Emergency response outcome and indicates that LTNs have no impact on the emergency services. In many cases LTNs speed up the response times.
